Our goal is to provide visitors to San Juan Island the best cycling experience. Selecting quality bikes and equipment to ensure everyone has a great time.

Loved the e-bikes!! My husband and I rented e-bikes for the first time ever. They were waiting for us at the shop and the staff did a good job making sure we knew how to control them and adjusting them for best fit. And then we were off! We decided to visit the tidal pools at Cattle Point and then stop at Pelindaba Lavender Farms on the way back. The bikes were pedal-assist which surely helped on the hills and we really liked the four levels of assist. All-in-all we had a lot of fun, the scenery was gorgeous, and we put on 27 miles round trip from Friday Harbor. There was plenty of battery life left and both of us (50+ and 60+) were pretty happy with ourselves.

With a limited amount of time, we decided that the best way to see the island would be to hire eBikes as we wanted to cycle and cover as much of the island as possible. Booked the bikes in advance via their website and headed straight there from the ferry. Bikes were ready waiting and after some simple instructions on how to get the best out of the battery, equipped with helmets, lock, and tools, set off. Bikes were brilliant and soon we were pedaling effortlessly uphill and actually looking forward to any incline so we could enjoy the 4 different power modes. Turbo lived up to the name! We covered just under 45 miles and the trip back from Roche Harbor to Friday Harbor (9.4 miles) took just over 35 mins, so we flew back on turbo mode. The booking process was easy, hire costs were good, staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, and the eBikes and equipment were all good quality. Day was made even better when we spotted a pod of Orcas just off the shoreline, amazing day!

This shop rents the largest number of ebikes on the island. This is a glorious way to wander around SJI with it rolling hills that leave regular bikers struggling up inclines. I was a little apprehensive, never having used an ebike. It took no more than 5 minutes to get comfortable....so if you are thinking about it, just DO IT!! The owner and staff at the shop are excellent. Hoping to go back and kayak as well...

My Mom and I booked a half day kayak tour to leave at 1:30pm. We walked on the 8:30am ferry from Anacortes and arrived in Friday Harbor at 9:45am. Went to check in at Discovery Sea Kayaks because we were early and needed some recommends to kill some time before our Kayak tour. Ended up renting E bikes from them and road to South Beach ( about 7.5miles) to see American Camp and the beautiful fields on the bluff filled with foxes running around. Ebikes were great, no effort to ride. We arrived back at 1pm and had a gorgeous kayak tour along to shore of Lime Kiln State Park. Our guides were very instructive and knew lots of facts, history and wildlife info. We got back at 5:30pm, grabbed a quick dinner and got the 6:30pm ferry boat back to Anacortes. What a fantastic day. Thank you Discovery Sea Kayaks and Bikes.

What an excellent experience. We rented bikes for the afternoon. We checked several other places in town and Discovery had the best rates. We got the power assist bikes which was perfect for hills. You can choose when to turn the power option on and off so you can ride normally but have a little boost at the bottom of a hill. Service was great and they stashed some gear for us so we had less to deal with when we were riding. They offer multiple day rates so I am looking forward to going back next summer and making a long weekend out of it.
