Lime Kiln State Park (One Way)

The route to Lime Kiln State Park is the most asked-about route on the island. This route takes riders through one of the island’s largest valleys and along a generous stretch of the infamous West Side Road. This section of winding road leads to Lime Kiln State Park, considered to be one of the best places in the United States to view orca whales from shore. Here, riders are also rewarded with some of the island’s most stunning views of the snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Hike along the shoreline trail towards a pristine pebble beach and watch for marine wildlife, or take the trails through the woods to explore the historic lime kilns. The quaint lighthouse sitting off the point makes for the perfect lunch break before hopping back in the saddle.

Please note the mileage and elevation listed is one way from Friday Harbor to Lime Kiln State Park. If you are planning a bike ride to Lime Kiln State Park double the mileage to account for your return ride.
